Justin David "JD" Phillips, age 33, of Apple Creek, died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a one month battle with COVID.

Justin was born on June 29, 1988, in Orrville, to John David Phillips and Cheryl (Moore) Phillips and attended Orrville High School.

He worked as a grill cook for McDonald's on Lincoln Way in Wooster.

Justin was a music enthusiast and he loved playing drums, guitar, and going to concerts. He enjoyed being the family grill master, concerts with friends and cheering on his favorite sports teams. Justin Phillips joined The San Francisco Chronicle in November 2016 as a food writer. Her entire life she loved learning, a passion that she pursued through every season of it, continuously expanding Vicki Lyn (Murray) Searle returned back home to the loving arms of her Savior on February 18th, 2023. Justin J. Phillips, 37, of Middletown, NJ passed peacefully from this life on Friday, November 20, 2020.  

He is survived by his loving parents Fred and Lori (Rogalsky) Phillips, and his brother Matthew B. Phillips of South Toms River, as well as by his Grandmother Helen R. Phillips of Middletown.  He will be greatly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.   

Born in Red Bank, NJ, he grew up in South Toms River and attended Toms River High School South before moving on to Ocean County College and Kean University.  He resided in Cranford and then in Hamilton, NJ for 7 years before moving to Middletown. 

Justin was an outgoing person, always quick to make people laugh with his keen wit and hilarious, good- natured sarcasm.  He loved to cook and was quite the home chef and he loved to travel.  Justin loved music and always loved to sing and he gave the best hugs!  All arrangements are private and entrusted to the care of the Timothy E.
